We LOVED getting the phone call from Kristina + Ralph asking for a maternity shoot! We had the honor of photographing their engagement and wedding, and we couldn’t be happier that these two amazing humans are going to be parents.

Interview with the beautiful bride, Mitzi:

HOW DID YOU TWO MEET? Chad and I met online in January. I expanded my area from 50 miles to 500 miles. Chad saw that I had looked at his profile and emailed me. We started emailing and talking on the phone and then he came down to Orlando in February to meet me. All it took was adding one zero for us to meet!
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU THE MOST TO YOUR HUSBAND/WIFE? What attracted me the most to Chad was how genuinely nice and sweet he was. I could tell he was a man of good integrity and good morals. He said that my beauty but also that I was smart, funny and I really liked sports.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE? Our proposal occurred in Washington DC. We flew up there for my family reunion in Maryland and decided to make a day of it in DC with my brother and cousin. We toured Arlington Cemetery, then the museums and then started walking the mall to see all of the monuments. At the end of the day we arrived to the Lincoln Memorial and started taking pictures. Chad told my brother to take one more picture and that was his code phrase to turn it to video. I thought we were taking another picture and I started asking Chad “What are you doing?” several times. I then noticed that his hands were shaking and he was teary eyed. He finally started to speak after giving me a kiss and said that since I was born in Washington DC and my life started here that he felt it was the perfect place to start our lives together. He got on one knee and proposed and of course I said YES! He put the ring on my finger, then we hugged and kissed and then everyone visiting the Lincoln Memorial at that moment started cheering and clapping. It was the perfect ending to an amazing day!
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR VISION FOR YOUR WEDDING? The inspiration for our wedding vision was our venue Bella Collina. It is so beautiful with amazing views and scenery that we wanted our wedding to be very elegant with a hint of rustic.
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST PLANNING CHALLENGE? The biggest challenge planning the wedding was our 4 month time frame. We became engaged on July 31st and married on November 30th. It was a little hectic but planning an amazing wedding in 4 months can be done!
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DESIGN ELEMENT OF YOUR WEDDING? My favorite design element of our wedding was the overall ambiance of the ballroom. From the amber lighting, to the gold linens with ivory flowers and black ribbon accents, to all the romantic candle lights throughout the room. Chad liked the “S” down the center of the aisle during the ceremony and the framed poster size program of the wedding party that welcomed all our guests!!
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY DETAILS? Our DIY projects included the mirror table seat assignments and our favor the Mr and Mrs Smith picture and CD of our favorite songs that remind us of each other and how we feel for one another.
WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY? The most memorable part of our wedding day was our first look. I could not wait to see Chad and could not wait for him to see me. It was very emotional, especially for Chad. It was so nice to have that intimate moment between the two of us.
DESCRIBE YOUR DRESS: My dress is an Alfred Angelo dress. It is an organza fit and flare with a sweetheart neckline accented with a little bling, buttoned up back, and a layered train. Loved it!!!
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER? We loved every minute with Sara and Jason our photographers. I first saw their work in a wedding album on our first visit to Bella Collina and I was hooked. I knew that I wanted them after seeing how beautiful and amazing their pictures were. Once I met with Sara and felt completely comfortable with her it was a done deal.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AS A COUPLE? Next up for Chad and I, is getting Chad moved to Orlando after he finds a job here. Also finding a bigger house with a big yard for our dog Bailey, we would like to expand our little family.
