INTERVIEW WITH THE BEAUTIFUL BRIDE, JANELLE:
HOW DID YOU MEET? Dave and I met while going to college at Florida State University.
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU THE MOST TO YOUR HUSBAND? We were friends long before we started dating; he was always fun and sexy!
A DATE YOU WENT ON THAT YOU WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER: It’s funny; we started dating in November of 2004 and we didn’t go on our first “real” date until Valentine’s Day. We went to Nicholson’s Farmhouse in Tallahassee and Dave got pulled over for speeding on our way home from dinner. We joked that he didn’t get a ticket because the cop thought I was pretty
WHEN AND HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT THIS WAS IT? Dave would take my ring finger and tell me he was going to put something there one day; I knew it was getting close!
HOW DID HE PROPOSE? We were in Costa Rica for one of my bridesmaids’ destination wedding. We had such an amazing night, drinking and hanging out with some of the locals we had met earlier in the day. We weren’t ready to go to bed when we got back to our hotel room, so we went out on the balcony. It was dark, but we could hear the sounds of the ocean. We started talking about our forever, and then Dave got down on one knee and proposed!
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR VISION FOR YOUR WEDDING? I love all things vintage. After I got my dress I knew I wanted my day to be very vintage/glam.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR VENUE: We looked at TONS of reception sites; I couldn’t resist those fantastic chandeliers.
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST PLANNING CHALLENGE? Keeping our guest list to an acceptable number
FAVORITE DESIGN ELEMENT OF YUR BIG DAY: Is it ok to say my veil?
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY DETAILS? Nope
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: I thought our flowers were a perfect match for the theme of our wedding; very soft and romantic. We used ivory and light blue hydrangeas, soft pink/ivory roses, and queen anne’s lace.
WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY? The whole day from start to finish was so memorable. I will always remember the excitement of being announced into our reception as the new Mr. and Mrs. Janelle and Dave Thomas, and seeing how much love there was in the room. Looking around at all our family and friends and seeing everyone having the best time was an amazing feeling.
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING CAKE: It was a 3 tier white Godiva chocolate cake, white butter cream frosting, with a leaf-like design done in ivory. Each tier was wrapped with a row of Swarovski crystals. It was topped with our initials.
DESCRIBE YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER? Jason is awesome; so fun and easy to work with! Our pictures from our engagement shoot were so fantastic, I’m on edge waiting to see our wedding pics!
WAS THERE ANYTHING IN PARTICULAR THAT SOMEONE DID THAT HELPED YOU MORE THAN YOU EXPECTED? Dave and I planned our South Florida wedding while living in Orlando. Both our parents were an unbelievable help, we couldn’t have done it without them!
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AS A COUPLE? We just bought our first house together, so now we get to put our energy into making it our home.
ANY VENDOR LOVE OR SHOUT OUTS? There were so many people that helped make our day so perfect; to name a few: Concept Photography, of course! Chantel and Aledia- Stylish Invitation Designs; Carol Richard- Hillcrest Golf and Country Club; Edible Creations; Floral Promotions; Hair and Makeup artist Alicia Couri; Norman and Alex- Party Time Dj’s.
