Katie + Tim / Glamorous Palm Beach Wedding

Interview with our BEAUTIFUL bride, Katie:
HOW DID YOU MEET? We both moved to New York City after college and met in East Hampton. We were guests at the same house one weekend and met through mutual friends.
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU THE MOST TO YOUR HUSBAND? We became great friends right away. We have a similar outlook on life and have always made each other very happy. After a few months of being ‘best friends’, we realized we wanted much more… and the rest is history.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE? Tim connected with Katie’s boss and had him place a fake breakfast meeting on the calendar. As Tim walked Katie out of their west village apartment that morning, he got down on one knee in the middle of the street and explained she was having breakfast with him at their favorite restaurant and there was no meeting. He also had the car packed and ready for a romantic weekend ski trip to Vermont to celebrate their engagement.
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR VISION FOR YOUR WEDDING? Once we booked the Pavilion at the Flagler Museum, we knew we wanted to go with that ‘Old Palm Beach’ feel. The wedding dress had a very vintage look. We selected an art deco design for the invitation and stationery. Once we got these key figures locked down, it was easy to get the planning in motion.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR VENUE: Katie went to Palm Beach for her sister’s birthday and after visiting a few churches, she stopped by the Flagler Museum with her cousin. They knew right away this was the perfect venue and the decision was made then and there.
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST PLANNING CHALLENGE? Our biggest challenge was planning the wedding while making the move from New York City to Geneva, Switzerland. Tim was transferred in March 2012 and Katie joined him later that summer after tying up loose ends in NYC. Luckily, Katie’s mother, sister and cousin all live in Florida and were very involved in the planning process.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DESIGN ELEMENT OF YOUR WEDDING? Again, the venue made the night. Between the gorgeous chapel and garden, walk through the museum, cocktails outside overlooking the scenic intracoastal and then walking into the beautifully decorated Pavilion, it was like a dream.
WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY? We really enjoyed taking pictures with each other and the bridal party. It gave us a chance to slow everything down and we were able to take it all in. We were both so happy the day had finally come and literally couldn’t stop smiling. Dr. Robert S. Norris conducted an incredible ceremony and it really was the most unbelievable experience.
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER? Sara and Jason are a wonderful team. They were very prepared and efficient, which made it easy for us to relax and enjoy every moment. We had a blast shooting with them and we got all the formal photos done with time to spare.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AS A COUPLE? We are back in Geneva, taking advantage of living in Europe and traveling as much as possible…living out our dreams and making a home away from home.
