Casey + Ben / Eau Gallie Yacht Club Wedding

Interview with our ADORABLE bride, Casey:
HOW DID YOU MEET? We met our freshman year of college through mutual friends in our dorm building.
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU THE MOST TO YOUR WIFE? His wit and sense of humor.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE? On a night we had plans to drive around and look at Christmas lights, he hung the ring from our Christmas tree and then called me over to admire all of the ornaments and pulled the ring off the tree. After a beautiful proposal he asked if I still wanted to go look at lights as we’d planned and led me outside where he had a limo (stocked with hot chocolate) waiting to drive us around to look at lights.
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR VISION FOR YOUR WEDDING? Even though we live in Atlanta now, we are both from Florida originally and miss the water dearly. We knew we wanted to be near the water and have a coastal feel, but wanted to steer away from anything too tropical.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR VENUE: We spent a long weekend in Florida driving around to venues on the Space Coast and in Orlando. I loved that Eau Gallie Yacht Club was on the water and immediately fell in love with the views from the big windows in the main dining room.
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST PLANNING CHALLENGE? Planning from out of town was challenging, but my mom and our coordinator, Karry Castillo made it so much easier! They helped square away all of the local details.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DESIGN ELEMENT OF YOUR WEDDING? Picking just one is so hard, but I probably have to choose the florals. After my very first meeting with our florist, Debra Shea Robertson of Atmospheres I knew she “got” exactly what I was wanting and she made it a reality! Every detail from the bouquets, to centerpieces, to the boutineers and the flowers for the cake was absolute perfection!
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY DETAILS? My mom designed, printed, and assembled the escort cards and table numbers, and my aunt and cousins designed and created a beautiful card box for us. It was really special to have their personal touches on these hand-made details!
WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY? Just one?! It was so much fun to get to celebrate our love for each other with all of our closest loved ones, but for the most incredible moment was when the sun peeked through the clouds during our (very windy!) ceremony just in time for us to read our vows. It was perfect timing!
DESCRIBE YOUR CAKE: Our cake was incredible! Jennifer did a fantastic job melding the design elements of all the different “pins” I showed her into one gorgeous cake. It had beautiful, intricate white- on-white piping designs with florals cascading down all four tiers.
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER? I cannot rave about Sara and Jason enough! When we were first looking to book photographers I was anxious about finding someone with whom I felt comfortable so I wouldn’t have what Ben calls my “painful, fake smile” in all of the photos. We felt so comfortable with them and genuinely had fun with them. Working with them has been an all around fantastic experience!
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AS A COUPLE? Right now we are just enjoying married life together and looking forward to honeymooning in Italy this summer.
